Despite her corporate reputation for being sharp and smart, Sheryl Sandberg, the COO of Facebook, leaves the office at exactly 5:30 to be with her kids.
Sandberg admits that the disciplined practice started a few years back. It was implied that she used to don the typical career women’s exercise of spending longer hours in the office. When the concept of work flexibility gained popularity, she immediately grabbed the chance and turned it to benefit her as a working mom. Sandberbg added that requesting for flexibility at work should not have a penalty attached to it. People want to have a life beyond work and we should not be ashamed of asking for it.
