2020 Wealth of Health Awards

Letter from the Editor

During the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic, it’s more important than ever that companies prioritize their employees’ health and wellness.

While COVID-19 is presenting new and unique challenges, many companies in the Rochester region have been working for years to prioritize their employees’ wellbeing. Th ey see it as an investment in both attracting top talent and maintaining a productive staff . For 15 years now, the Rochester Business Journal has been recognizing local employers who take seriously their staff ’s wellness with the annual Wealth of Health Awards.

Over that time, both the popularity and scope of workplace wellness programs in Greater Rochester has continued to grow, and companies and employees alike have reaped the benefi ts. Each year we see new, more creative approaches to supporting employee wellness, running the gamut of physical, mental, emotional and even spiritual health.

This year we added two new categories: Best Health Success Story and Best Wellness Innovation. Twenty-fi ve local employers are represented among the fi nalists for this year’s awards. Finalists were judged on employee involvement in health initiatives, the creativity of these activities to reach specifi c targets, sustainability of programs and measurable outcomes. Th e awards are presented by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, Rochester Region, and the Rochester Business Journal. Winners will be announced at a virtual event beginning at 8:30 a.m. on June 10.

We would like to thank Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and our judges — Marc Natale and Janette Westman — for helping us honor these initiatives.
